about

TRINITRON was created in 2005 as the ongoing solo project of Mark Weinberg (RISK RELAY, SECRET PHOTOS). Working with a contemporary yet abstract palate, TRINITRON weaves tangible melodies and subtle textures through the use of processed electric guitar, vocals, and pre-recorded elements. Weinberg's soundscapes have been performed live in unconventional spaces, often incorporating visual elements. The spirit of TRINITRON is a combination of forms meant to be evocative of landscapes and mindscapes depite its primary presentation in an audio medium.

WHERE NUMBERS MEET was originally recorded in the winter of 2014 at Volume IV recording studio with Risk Relay drummer, Brian Buccellato, as engineer (Brian having also recorded SCREAMING FEMALES and THE ERGS!). Ernest Intorrella formerly of THE ROSARIO FOCUS and Weinberg's bandmate in SECRET PHOTOS provided percussion, synthesizers, and sampling, while contributing to arrangements on this record. Whereas prior releases have explored the more ambient demonstrations of distant galaxies, WHERE NUMBERS MEET has mostly eschewed space travel in favor of more direct songs, rooted in electronics with rock flourishes - here, we find ourselves edging closer to Earth's orbit. The record's title is celebratory of our ability to find and nurture connections in this world, our real world, even though they might be cyber-originated and mediated by technology.

The tracks, having been shelved for a decade, will now get to see the light of day for a streaming only release on Valentine's Day 2024, published by I LOVE TO HATE RECORDS. The release is made possible with mastering done by Nick Bolton at BOLTON SOUND, and with artwork by Christina Entcheva who also designed the cover for Trinitron's last release, A Quiet Echo. Music video for the titular track created by Jon Sauer.
